A New Dice-Based Spin on a Modern Classic Is Coming Soon

The ancient cities of 7 Wonders are getting a brand-new twist this year with the reveal of 7 Wonders Dice, the newest title in the beloved 7 Wonders universe. Repos Production has officially announced this new entry will be rolling into U.S. markets on September 19, 2025, and it’s already one of my most anticipated releases of the year.

Here’s the official overview from the publisher:

“Guide one of the seven largest cities of antiquity to prosperity in 7 Wonders Dice. During the game, you will construct a wonder that defies time, make scientific advances, develop commerce, manage your resources, and handle your gold reserve prudently — all while keeping an eye on neighboring cities since ignoring them has a heavy price! A game plays over a series of turns during which you will use dice to construct your city. At the end of the game, count up all of your points to see who has the highest score.”

What We Know So Far

While gameplay details are still scarce, what’s confirmed is that 7 Wonders Dice will support 2–7 players and preserve the core feel of city-building and neighbor interaction that defines the series.

I’m really hoping this turns out to be either a roll-and-write or a dice-based worker placement game—two of my favorite dice mechanics. It sounds like there’s still a strong emphasis on managing resources and watching your neighbors carefully, so I wonder if any sort of dice drafting will be involved. Or will it be more of a simultaneous, roll-your-own-path experience?

Regardless, with the massive popularity of 7 Wonders, Duel, and Architects, this is likely to be one of the biggest releases of late 2025. I’d love to see early copies or demos pop up at Gen Con this summer—fingers crossed!

What’s Next for the 7 Wonders Line?

With 7 Wonders, 7 Wonders Duel, Architects, and now Dice, it’s becoming clear that Repos is building out a full ecosystem of accessible, strategic spin-offs. I recently reviewed The Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle-earth, which borrows heavily from the 7 Wonders Duel structure and theme, and it’s exciting to see this kind of branching design philosophy at work across multiple IPs and systems.

Will we see even more genre explorations—maybe a cooperative 7 Wonders game? A campaign mode? Time will tell.

For now, keep your eye on the BGG page for 7 Wonders Dice for more updates as we get closer to launch.
